There’s something special about fall weddings—the soft autumn light, the crisp air, and the way everything feels a little more intimate. Kati and John’s wedding at Tara – A Country Inn was the kind of day every photographer hopes for: sunshine, warm breezes, and heartfelt moments throughout.

Getting Ready for “I Do”

From the start, the morning was all about connection. The bridal party gathered at Styling One Salon, sipping mimosas and enjoying snacks while getting hair and makeup done together. Afterwards, everyone moved to a local farmhouse to finish getting ready—a one-of-a-kind space with wandering chickens and even a peacock roaming the grounds. The room was alive with energy as dresses were adjusted, final touches were added, and laughter filled the air. Kati slipped into her gown as her maid of honor, Mady, carefully buttoned up the back. It was a quiet, tender moment amid the morning’s activity, each small detail building toward the celebration ahead.

Meanwhile, at the Inn, the men were having their own version of wedding-day prep. The room buzzed with energy as jackets were pressed and ties were retied a couple of times over. Beneath the laughter, there was a current of nerves. John paced a little, double-checking details, while his groomsmen kept the mood light with jokes and reassurances amongst each other.

Down by the docks on the Shenango River Reservoir, Kati added a playful twist by “icing” the groomsmen. It's a TikTok-inspired prank where the bride surprises the group with bottles of Smirnoff Ice, and they have to chug them. The groomsmen laughed, groaned, and shook off the chill, creating a memorable and lighthearted moment that set a fun tone for the day.

Later, the wedding party gathered under a canopy of trees for Kati and John’s first touch. Time seemed to pause as they exchanged private vows in front of their closest friends. Laughter, tears, and the gentle rustle of leaves created an intimate, unforgettable moment that set the tone for the rest of the day.

The ceremony took place in the late afternoon beneath the trees on the grounds of Tara – A Country Inn, with sunlight filtering through the leaves and a soft autumn breeze. White chairs lined the manicured lawn, with a brick path marking the aisle. Seasonal décor, including colorful pumpkins and rust-colored signs, added warm, festive touches. Friends and family gathered as Kati and John exchanged vows, every glance, word, and gesture capturing the love and connection between them. It was a ceremony filled with emotion and natural beauty, creating moments that will be remembered for years to come.

Toasts, Dancing, and Sweet Traditions

The reception was a lively continuation of the celebration. The covered patio was warm and inviting with patio heaters and string lights, while inside, the DJ’s colorful lights set the dance floor aglow. The playlist was a perfect mix of trendy pop hits and timeless classics, keeping guests of all ages moving—yes, even Kati’s grandmother, who is over 100!

The classic shoe game brought plenty of laughs. Kati and John sat back-to-back, holding one of their own shoes and one of their partner’s, answering playful questions that had the crowd cheering. True to Pittsburgh tradition, a cookie table stole the spotlight, stacked high with homemade treats that delighted everyone. The combination of music, dancing, and playful moments made the reception feel both energetic and intimate, perfectly rounding out a day full of love and laughter.
